Spike Lee has announced that his latest film, Highest 2 Lowest, will debut for audiences in early Summer 2025. Composer Howard Drossin, who previously scored Lee’s 2018 film Pass Over, created the original music which was recorded in New York City’s Hammerstein Ballroom in the Manhattan Center with 90-piece orchestra.
Inspired by Akira Kurosawa’s 1963 crime thriller “High and Low,” this “re-inspired” version follows a music mogul, played by Denzel Washington, in a morality tale suspense thriller.
