New Music From Howard Drossin
Italy in America: A Fiat 500e Journey with Spike Lee and Giancarlo Esposito
Pizzicato strings and vintage-sounding horns comprise the sound for this playful and evocative ad for Fiat. The rich, yet intimate sound was produced with small ensemble players and additional orchestra created in Drossin’s studio. Spike Lee directed the short with the agency, Rosewood Creative.
The short film features Spike Lee and Giancarlo Esposito as they explore the amenities of the Fiat’s 500e electric vehicle, Howard created fun, Italian-themed score for a day’s driving adventure, introducing viewers to the stylish and environmentally-conscious car. Lee directs and stars in the “Italy in America” spot opposite his Emmy-nominated friend. As the story goes, Esposito helps Lee find his inner Italian as they discover how their urban commute becomes more “dolce” in the 2024 Fiat 500e.
